All Star FAQ for Chaires Families

What exactly is All Stars?

The objectives for Little League All Stars are to provide a platform for players to showcase their skills, foster camaraderie among teams, and promote sportsmanship. Through competitive play and teamwork, players learn valuable lessons in discipline, resilience, and fair play, laying the foundation for their growth both on and off the field.

The President of Chaires Little League will follow the process outlined in the Chaires Bylaws to select the manager for each team.

How are players selected?

The managers of each division hold a draft to discuss each player who applied to be an All Star player. The manager for the team has the final say on their team’s roster, but input from each team’s manager is included in the roster decisions.

How many players are selected for each team?

Each team will have at least 12 players, but may have as many as 14 on the roster.

When will I find out if my child made the team?

All Star team rosters are typically announced after the league end of season tournament, but never sooner than May 15.

How much does it cost?

There is a registration fee for selected players. The cost will be about $100 which covers a hat, jersey, and practice shirt.  Players must provide their own pants, socks, and belt.

What is the time commitment?

The expectation for All Stars is much more than the regular season. Teams will practice up to five times per week, starting immediately after the teams are announced. It will be required for players to be available for all tournament games.
