Parent Resources for Your Softball Player
Equipment Information
We provide a jersey, socks, helmets, bats, and some other equipment like catchers gear and infielders masks. However, you are welcome to purchase preferred equipment such as bats, hats, sunglasses, and cleats (recommended for additional traction and safety). Please ensure your player has a glove.
Local equipment options include Instant Replay Sports in Ithaca for new and used equipment, as well as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart. Make sure any bat is ASA-approved and that cleats do not have metal spikes. Also, remember to bring a water bottle to practice.
Encouraging Practice at Home
Practicing outside of team practices is encouraged! There are many helpful resources online, including video tutorials and skill-building drills. Watching JV or Varsity Softball games, college softball, or even Major League Baseball can also be beneficial for players.

Commitment to the Team
It is important that players attend all practices and games. We need at least 9 players to field a team and additional players for substitutions. We make every effort to ensure every player gets as much playing time as possible. If a game is canceled due to weather or other scheduling issues, we will inform parents as soon as possible. Always check our website and social media for updates.
Sportsmanship & Parent Support
Softball is not just about skill development; it’s also about teamwork and respect. Parents play a vital role in supporting their players by encouraging sportsmanship, appreciating the time and effort of coaches and umpires, and ensuring their child is prepared and having fun. Our coaches and umpires volunteer their time and do their best—please respect their efforts.
