The Palestine Youth Sports Organization Mission Statement:

The Palestine Youth Sports Organization (PYSO) aspires to be an outstanding athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete. 
A high-quality experience is one in which every athlete:

Is coached using positive coaching principles.
Has fun at practices and games.
Feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance.
Learns “life lessons” that have value beyond the playing field.
Learns the skills, tactics and strategies of the game and improves as a player.

12U - 11 & 12 year olds - Diamond League O-Zone Division
14U- 13 & 14 year olds - Ranger Baseball and Dixie Boys Divisions

  • Age division is determined by how old your player will be on May 1, 2025

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1.). Registration Fees:
  • $90 Dec. 1, 2024 - Feb. 9, 2025
  • $140 Late Registration: Feb. 10 - 16, 2025
2.) Season Dates:
  • Practices may start: Mon., March 3, 2025
  • Pre-Season Games: The week of March 24, 2025
  • Opening Day: Sat., March 29, 2025
  • Regular Season Games: March 31 - @ May 10, 2025
  • League Tournament: Sat., April 26 - Sun. April 27, 2025
2.) Baseball players ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND A MANDATORY SKILLS EVALUATION which will be used for team placement purposes.
Any player that does not attend the skills evaluation will be placed on a team at random.
  • PYSO EVALUATION DATE/TIME: Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 8U - 2:00 - 4:00 10U - 4:00 - 6:00 12U and 14U - 6:00 - 7:30
  • Location: PISD Indoor Athletic Facility - Loop 256 and Benbrook Drive (adjacent to the Palestine ISD Wildcat Stadium)
  • Bring glove, helmet and bat suggested
  • Players may sign up at the evaluations but the Late Fee will apply.
3.) The league will provide each player and Volunteer Coach with a jersey and a hat.
4.) Items that will need to be purchased include WHITE pants/knickers, belt, socks, helmet and glove. Color of belt and socks will be determined by the team coach. It
may be preferable to purchase a bat as well. A USA stamped bat is required for 8U-12U. A USA stamped bat -5 or a BBCOR bat may be used in 14U.
5.) For those wanting their player to "play up" a division, you must contact Nancy Kindig-Malone, PYSO Coordinator by email at [email protected] or
by phone at 979-446-6470. Decisions regarding players "playing up" must be Board approved. Additionally, if allowed, players are eligible to move up one age
division only.
6.) The PYSO League is a local league that plays at the Palestine Athletic Complex located at 128 Armory Rd., Palestine, TX.
7.) Game days are most generally played M-T-Th-F. Due to situations that may arise due to the ongoing renovation of fields, limited games may be scheduled on
Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additionally, Opening Day and one League Tournament is scheduled for a weekend.
8.) Volunteer Coaches are needed for each age division. Background checks will be done as required by the District and Diamond League Baseball organization.
9.) REFUNDS will not be provided after the player plays his first game. Refunds prior to first game will be determined by any costs incurred by the association up to the
time the request is made.
