Developing Youth In Soccer Ages 4-14 Ledyard, CT

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Ledyard Soccer Club (LSC) is to provide opportunities for Ledyard residents, particularly youth, to learn about, participate in and enjoy soccer in a safe, positive, inclusive environment in order to improve soccer skills, develop soccer interests and build character.

In order to achieve this mission, the LSC is committed to the following:

  • Our primary focus is to provide opportunities for children to play recreational soccer.
  • All children who want to play will play, provided they register on time and sufficient coaches are available.
  • Every effort will be made to create equally balanced teams in the recreation leagues.
  • For LSC leagues, no standings will be kept or team trophies given for finishing a season with a better record than another team.
  • Opportunities to play more competitive soccer will be made available to players who demonstrate the necessary interest and skills.
  • Family participation at all levels of the Club is highly encouraged.
  • All participating coaches, players and spectators are required to abide by the LSC Code of Ethics

You can double your gift to us and/or provide funds to the club from the hours you're donating when you coach or do other volunteer work for the club.

U5/U6 DIVISION

For this younger age group, practices include small teams that focus on having fun while learning the basic fundamentals of soccer. The first portion of each practice begins with games/skills/technical approaches, and the practices end with scrimmages. Our practices and scrimmages take place on Saturday mornings. Parent volunteer coaches are needed to support the coach during these sessions.

  • 2 Sessions each year: Fall & Spring
  • One session a week on Saturday mornings that involve both skill building and small-sided games.
  • Uniform jersey is provided. For bottoms, any of your players gym-type shorts (or pants for colder weather) will be fine to wear. They need shin guards. Cleats and socks are good to have as well as a refillable water bottle and soccer ball.

U7/U8/U9 DIVISION

This program is an in-house, intra-league division established to work on transitioning these age groups and develop skills and knowledge for competitive U10 play.

  • Boys and girls teams in each age division.
  • Practice: 2 sessions during the week, typically 1.5 hrs; intra-league games on Saturdays.

New uniform is not included in registration.
Uniforms must be purchased separately, and we update the uniform every three years.
YOU MUST EMAIL UNIFORM COORDINATOR PRIOR TO ORDERING UNIFORM IF YOUR PLAYER DOES NOT ALREADY HAVE A JERSEY NUMBER.

U10-U15 DIVISIONS

These Divisions offer players who wish to focus on advancing their skills in a more competitive setting, a chance to play at higher levels within Southeast Connecticut in a travel capacity. Players must attend our evaluation sessions to be considered for placement on a classic team.
