UMATILLA POP WARNER AND CHEERLEADING VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

We believe that parental involvement and support are crucial to the success of our athletes and our program. As highlighted, our cheerleading season extends beyond football. As a preexisting requirement, all families are expected to volunteer two hours towards Umatilla Pop Warner. This can be accomplished by assisting at the gates or working in concessions during home games. Additionally, concessions are available during every practice, providing an opportunity to fulfill this time commitment. We do offer an alternative option: a $50 opt-out fee per athlete for  those who prefer not to volunteer. This fee goes directly to Pop Warner to help facilitate operations.

 

This year we are implementing an additional 2-hour volunteer requirement for our cheerleading families. This commitment is designed to share the responsibility evenly among families to raise the funds for its continuation of cheer season. You can meet this 2-hour requirement by attending one of the three fundraisers scheduled outside of our regular season or by paying an additional opt-out fee of $50. Per athlete. To clarify, we prefer your attendance over the opt-out fee. Your assistance at these fundraisers generates far more funds than an opt-out fee would. However, we recognize that certain circumstances may prevent attendance, so this option was established. This fee directly contributes to the cheerleading competition fund, which operates separately from the overall reserve supporting Umatilla PW.

 

To provide further clarity, this competition fund will support all teams who advance in the Pop Warner competition and progress to Regionals, with the ultimate goal of reaching Nationals. 

 

We've transitioned our board position of 'volunteer coordinator' to 'team mom coordinator'. This adjustment aims to streamline our processes by assigning one coordinator to oversee each team’s “Team Mom”. Each Team Mom will then be responsible for ensuring their team fulfills their required volunteer hours or have verified that the Opt-out fee has been paid. This detailed process will enable the board to effectively manage our efforts and ensure that everyone is contributing their part to the league. 

 

If neither option is fulfilled, please be aware that the Opt-Out fee must be paid before your athlete can register for the following season. This new rule will be strictly enforced.
