FROM THE LEAGUE SAFETY OFFICER
Welcome back to Central Springfield Little League Baseball! We are looking forward to a successful and productive 2025 season. We strive for a safe environment for all to learn and grow with Little League Baseball.
This will be my fourth as CSLL Safety Officer. I can be contacted at [email protected].
All volunteers (both returning and new) must participate in a volunteer background check per Little League requirements. Background checks will be conducted through JD Palatine (JDP) for the 2025 season. The JDP National Criminal File Database contains more than 450 million records, including criminal and sex offender registry records across 50 states and the District of Columbia. Only volunteers who complete a background check can coach during games or practices. Notices will be sent to each manager and CSLL Board Members when volunteers have completed their applications, when potential volunteers fail to complete the application, or when JDP reports findings.
Each team also must appoint a Team Safety Parent(TSP) to assist the manager and the designated coaches to ensure safety guidelines are met at all practices and games. TSOs will keep on file with the team at all times while on the field the following:
- Completed CSLL Team Signature Form.
- CSLL Accident/Incident Report Form.
- CSLL Safety Observation form.
- Completed Medical Release form for each player.
- Concussion and Abuse Awareness Training Certificates for Managers, Coaches, and TSP.
All managers and Board Members must complete an online First-Aid course for our members to improve our safety goal. A free online First-Aid course is available from USA Baseball at USA Baseball Basic First Aid.
Online Concussion Training is available for all volunteers and mandated for TSOs, managers, and coaches at Online Concussion Training.
All managers and Board Members must complete Abuse Awareness Training has been conducted. This is a Little League Baseball International initiative. The training can be completed at Abuse Awareness Training
All documents must be completed before opening day. Please email the safety officer once all requirements are complete.
A hard copy of this Safety Manual is available at the Trailside concession stand and in the CSLL Board Room. We encourage parents to sign up for the Little League and ASAP Newsletters. Links are available on our website. Remember, SAFETY is our first goal at CSLL.
Now, let’s play ball.
