FROM THE LEAGUE SAFETY OFFICER
Welcome back to Central Springfield Little League Baseball! We are looking forward to a successful and productive 2023 season. We strive for a safe environment for all to learn and grow with Little League Baseball.
This will be my first season as CSLL Safety Officer. I can be contacted at [email protected].
Per Little League requirements, all volunteers (both returning and new) must participate in a volunteer background check. Background checks will be conducted through JD Palatine (JDP) for the 2023 season. The JDP National Criminal File Database contains more than 450 million records which include criminal records and sex offender registry records across 50 states and the District of Columbia. Any volunteer failing to complete a background check will not be allowed to coach during games or during practices. Notices will be sent to each manager and CSLL Board Members when volunteers have completed their applications and when potential volunteers fail to complete the application or when JDP reports findings.
Each team also must appoint a Team Safety Parent(TSP) to assist the manager and the designated coaches to ensure safety guidelines are met at all practices and games. TSO's will keep on file with team at all times while on the field the following: 1) Completed CSLL Team Signature Form; 2) CSLL Accident/Incident Report Form; 3) CSLL Safety Observation form; 4) Completed Medical Release form for each player. 5) Concussion Training Certificates for Manager, Coaches and TSP.
All managers and Board Members must complete any online First-Aid course for our members in an effort to improve our safety goal. Online Concussion Training is available for all volunteers, and mandated for TSO’s, managers and coaches and at https://www.train.org/cdctrain/course/1105618/
All documents are required to be completed prior to opening day. Please email safety officer once all requirements are complete.
A hard copy of this Safety Manual is available in the Trailside concession stand and in the CSLL Board Room. We encourage parents to sign up for the Little League and ASAP Newsletters. Links are available on our website. Remember, SAFETY is our first goal at CSLL.
Now, let’s play ball.
