Taunton Youth Soccer Training Models
Here's a number of references that will help with following our methodology for a more effective and consistent training session.
Training sessions should follow a progressive format that builds upon itself through the day. It will include the following:
- Warm-up for approximately 10-12 minutes
- Exercise/drill 1 for approximately 15-20 minutes
- Exercise/drill 2 for approximately 15-20 minutes
- Final scrimmage for approximately 30-40 minutes
Suitable for ages U6-U8
Hit the Coach approx. 15-20 min.

Small Group Activity for dribbling approx. 15-20 min. small sided progression
Suitable for ages U8 and above
Suitable for U10 and older
Suitable for U12 and older
Suitable for U14 and older
Warm up approx. 10-12 minutes
Through Ball Drill
Exercise # 1 approx. 15-20 min. small sided progression
Playing Into Spaces
Final Exercise approx. 30 min - 40 min.
Scrimmage - let the kids play and try to promote the topics worked on in the session.
