Make the Extra Pass Foundation (MTEP)
MTEP is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which awards scholarships, funding and grants to people and organizations who are unlocking the potential of kids and teens within their neighborhoods through athletics. MTEP is a division of the Hooperverse founded by NBA player Nico Mannion and SLO residents Jeremy Koven and Cameron Katal.
Starting with the basketball community, MTEP is empowering existing programs, as well as creating programs and leagues for young, aspiring athletes.
The targeted recipients of the efforts of the MTEP foundation are families with children between age 8 to 18 from underserved communities. We understand that families don’t have the financial resources and networks for their children to access these opportunities, and are committed to providing access to these opportunities whether or not they can pay.
We are leveling the playing field and democratizing access to athletics, training and team play by providing financial support for high quality education, academic resources, athletic equipment, league fees, health, wellness and nutrition training.
We also seek to partner with like-minded organizations and their communities to create even greater impact together.
Recipients and Partners include: The Watts Skill Academy https://wattsskillsacademy.net/ basketball program for boys & girls in South Central Los Angeles, Inglewood College Preparatory https://mobile.twitter.com/theicpschool in Inglewood, CA
