Opening Day 2024 -- Photos and Video

Lewisboro Baseball kicked off the 2024 in-town baseball season on Saturday, April 13.   While it was a cool and cloudy morning, the showers and wind held off until later in the day, so we were able to get in the festivities, which included:

  • The traditional parade of teams, starting with our youngest players (A division) and culminating with our oldest (Majors).
  • National anthem played on violin by LBA player, Hugo Samanich
  • Recognition for retiring LBA leaders
  • Speeches by town officials
  • Ceremonial first pitch
  • BBQ hosted by the Lions Club

The LBA also announced its new junior umpires program. The goal of this program is to afford John Jay teens and LBA alumni the opportunity to get training and practical experience as umpires (both behind the plate and in the field) during our AA in-town games. This initiative helps to alleviate the umpire shortage in our area, while also afford our local teens a chance to make some money.

Local photographer Rich Monetti was present to memorialize the day's activities. Digital downloads available for $4.95. Prints, wall art, albums, and other physical options also available for a fee.
