11U advances to championship!

The Lewisboro Lightning won their third straight game at home on Wednesday night to advance to the 11U-Division 3 Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League (GHVBL) championship game.

After winning the first two games easily (13-3 and 19-0), the Lightning punched their ticket to the GHVBL championship weekend in Danbury in a nail-biter. After building a 3-0 lead through the first 4 innings, the Lightning allowed a couple runs to score to make it 3-2. However, the Lightning closed the door in the the top of the 6th. With a runner on 3rd and only 1 out, a strike out and pop up to pitcher stifled the scoring opportunity and sealed the game.

3. Opponent rallied for 2 in the 5th. But Lewisboro gots a clutch 2-out catch in center field to escape the jam.
