LBA Wolves 14U Travel Fall '23 Lewisboro Baseball Association is pleased to announce tryouts for a 14U Fall team. This is a competitive program intended for middle & high school students who either played on or intend to try out for Modified Baseball, JV or Varsity in the Spring. Playing time will be merit based and playing time is not guaranteed. Boys will play in the 14U GVHBL division age rules -- i.e., born after 4/30/2009.
The program will be overseen by John Jay Varsity coach Ted Lawrence and his staff. As head of the John Jay baseball program, Coach Lawrence is a big believer in players from JJ playing together as much as possible to ensure proper skill development, understanding game play, strengthening communication and knowledge of how each player plays together. The coaches of this team will be Ted Lawrence, Tom Bond, Joe Kesslemark and Ty Lawrence.
If your son plays another sport in the Fall that precludes him from participating during the Fall season, we still want them tryout in August so they can be part of the rest of the program for the following 2024 Spring/Summer season.
Note: participation in this program is not mandatory for current or future John Jay Modified or High School players and in no way will impact their ability to earn a spot on the Modified, JV or Varsity Baseball teams. This will be run by the LBA along with parent managers (volunteers).
Please respond by August 17, 2023 if your son intends to tryout AND if they are interested in participating in the Fall and/ or Fall and Summer program.
Tryouts: It is mandatory that your son attend at least one of the two tryouts. We will be on hand to answer your questions as well,
1st tryout: Monday, August 28th at 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
2nd tryout: Tuesday, August 29th at 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

2023 Fall Season Specifics:
Fall rosters announced by August 31
Rosters limited to 13-14 full time players (plus possible part time and pitcher only players)
Practice and games start approximately the first week of September
Practice will be 1x per week
Greater Hudson Valley League with majority of games on weekends that will not interfere with any Fall baseball program that may be offered by the High School
Two local tournaments and up to 12 games with GHVBL (dependencies: weather and field availability)
Fall season concludes no later than mid-November
Acceptance of Player and Parent Code of Conduct is mandatory for admittance into the program. Failure to abide by this Code will be consider cause for removal from the team.
