Shelly Dawson served as President of the Brunswick Little League for 17 years in the 60's & 70's, a period when BRLL dominated District 2 play and won our first state titles.

KENNETH 'POPPY" LEWIS

Hitting Award

Poppy Lewis coached in the Brunswick Little League from the late 60's into the 80's. He started with the Cubs and then returned to lead the Reds, winning District and State titles during both stints.

GAREL HAUVER

Fielding Award

Garel Hauver began coaching the Cubs in Brunswick Little League in 1975 and continued into the 80's. He also coached in Marva Babe Ruth, taking the 1987 team to the World Series.  He was also the first coach of the Brunswick Pony League team. He began covering Sports for the Brunswick Citizen Newspaper in 1976, a job he held until he retired in 2014.

 CLYDE "RED" HAWES

Sportsmanship Award

Red Hawes coached for 25 years in the Brunswick Little League, all with the Cubs from 1956 to 1980. His teams won 14 league championships and 7 District tiltles. He also coached in Marva Babe Ruth in the 60's. In 1998 he was elected to the Frederick County Sports Hall of Fame.
