This is our competitive league play. Players are committed to learning and playing hard. Players develop advanced soccer skills while coaches reinforce sportsmanship and gameplay. Practice is more frequent and games are against teams from around Minnesota. This league also participates in select tournaments and the State Championship (optional). Teams are available for boys and girls in both Summer and Fall seasons.
Summer Competition:
Practices are generally weeknights though some coaches may opt for weekend practices as well. MYSA schedules will indicate what night a particular age group will play, but rescheduled games can be made up at anytime. There is a volunteer requirement for competition families of 4 hours per family. There is a $300 fee for families to opt-out of the volunteer hours, or fail to complete them by the end of the season.
Fall Competition:
Practices are one or two nights a week. All games will be scheduled for the weekends unless there is a rescheduled game and both teams agree to a weeknight game.
Many families have expressed that they wait to register as they don’t know if there will be a team. There cannot be a team if players do not register! Players should always register, even if they are uncertain of team formation. This allows us to actively recruit the remaining players required to fill each team. We cannot anticipate recruitment if we do not see registrations. This could result in the cancellation of a team, while sufficient players were waiting for the team to be formed before registering!
In the event that a team cannot be formed, families are refunded any payments made. To not register is to risk the formation of that team.
