Why Some Players Are Moved Up
Overview: Each year, Dryden Little League moves up a certain number of 8-year-olds into the Minor Division and 10-year-olds into the Major Division. The number of players chosen to move up is based on the division's needs.
Skills Assessment: Each year, Dryden LL conducts a Skills Assessment Day. Evaluators assess players at various skill stations, providing a grade and an overall score. Players with higher scores are more likely to be moved up.
Parent/Player Request: If a parent or player strongly prefers a particular division, this request is taken into consideration, though there is no guarantee that it will be honored.
Parents should remember that this is a youth sport, and it's not a big deal if a player is not "moved up". We encourage supportive behavior towards players and volunteers.
