Player development and a fun experience are the priorities in the spring season for all softball players.
Prior playing experience in NOT required for any age group/division. All are welcomed to play, regardless of ability.
Players can expect to play multiple positions, and playing time is equal among all players.
There are no tryouts for spring softball. Any player who signs up before the deadline will be placed on a team. Late registrations will be placed on a waitlist.
The league will make every effort to create balanced teams, allowing for the highest level of fair competition within each division and ensuring that players feel good about their team and the season.
A heavy emphasis will be placed on coaching and development of fundamentals as well as specialized skills such as pitching and catching.
• 8U = instructional, coach-pitch league played in-town only. 1 to 2 practices and 1 game per week.
• 10U = developmental, player-pitch league. 1 to 2 practices and 1 to 2 games per week (3 days per week max).
• 12U/14U = competitive, player-pitch league. 1 to 2 practices and 1 to 2 games per week (3 days per week max).
• 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions will play games against other Wilmington teams, as well as participate in out of town games as part of the Merrimack Valley Girls Softball League.
