Ready to lead something big? If you’ve ever thought about starting a club, captaining a team, or building something that actually changes your community, this role is for you.
BRYC Girls Flag is launching a first-of-its-kind league for girls in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC. As a Deputy Commissioner, you’ll help grow the league and make sure girls who join have an amazing experience—fun, welcoming, and full of growth on and off the field.
Deputy Commissioners are student leaders who help launch and grow the BRYC Girls Flag League. You’re not just hanging flyers—you’re building the playbook for how girls across the region discover, join, and thrive in girls’ flag football.
Your mission is two-fold: help build a successful league and help girls get a meaningful experience from it—social, physical, and character growth.
This is a real leadership role, not just a title.
This Girls Flag league has never existed in Northern Virginia before. You’ll be helping start something that outlives your time in high school.
You don’t have to be a star athlete to be a Deputy Commissioner. You just have to care about girls’ sports, love a challenge, and be willing to lead.
You’re the person who starts things—clubs, group chats, scrimmages, service projects. You like taking an idea and turning it into something real.
You know how to bring people together. You’re plugged in across teams, classes, and friend circles and you like helping people find their place.
You don’t need the spotlight, but you love big goals and you’re willing to do the work behind the scenes. This league will need people exactly like you.
As a Deputy Commissioner, you’ll be working under Audra Gibson, Girls Flag Commissioner, and Mac Brown, Head of BRYC Leadership Programs. You’ll have guidance, support, and a real voice in how this league takes shape.
