West Boylston Youth Soccer
WBYSA is run entirely on adult volunteers. We are always in need of volunteers for coaches, board members, and executive board members. Email us to find out how you can help support the program.
Town Rec Leagues:
Skills/Drills camp: Children in the 2.5-4 yr old age range will be provided a skills and drills league to help players learn the basics of soccer (dribbling, shooting, passing) in a fun age-appropriate manner. The hope is to get children comfortable being away from parents and having fun (and getting out their energy). There will be no scheduled games. The league takes place once a week on Saturday mornings for 45mins. Due to the age group, space is limited and dependent on parent/adult volunteers. Limit is 25 players (first come basis).
Preschool/kindergarten soccer: Consists of 1 weeknight practice (60mins) and a Saturday morning game. The games are either 4v5 or 5v5 and no goalies are on the field. The goal of this age group is to acclimate the players to playing real games while continuing to learn basic soccer skills.
First/Second grade soccer: Consists of 1 weeknight practice (60mins, day TBD) and a Saturday morning game. The games are typically 6v6 and including goalies, thrown ins and other advanced soccer rules. These players are continuing to improve their skills and preparing to enter travel soccer.
***ALL town rec leagues are COED.***
Travel Leagues:
(Third grade and up) Travel is a more competitive level of soccer but still recreational.
There are typically 2 practices a week and 1 game on Saturday in which teams from the surrounding towns will compete.
Soccer teams are divided into both boy and girl divisions and split into:
Third/Fourth grade (U10)
Fifth/Sixth grade (U12)
