Fall 2024 soccer registration is now CLOSED.
Recreational Soccer is for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. Recreational Soccer builds upon the lessons learned during Micro soccer and prepares your child to play on a travel team or to continue playing Recreational Soccer. Practices are typically once per week for the younger teams and twice a week for the older teams and allow the children to have fun and be part of team environment.
Grades 1 & 2 (U8) will play games on Saturday mornings (and a possible Sunday) at Malerbo Field in Burlington and sometimes in Harwinton.
Grades 3 through 8 (U10, U12 & U14) will play games in Burlington and also in towns such as Farmington, Avon and Simsbury as part of the Farmington Valley Rec League (FVL). FVL games are usually played on Saturday but there may occasionally be a Sunday game as well.
All towns playing in the FVL follow US Soccer's Birth Year age guidelines when forming teams. For the Fall 2024 through Spring 2025 seasons, girls and boys teams will be formed as follows:
U14 = Born 2011, 2012 and 8th graders born in 2010
U12 = Born 2013, 2014
U10 = Born 2015, 2016
U8 = Born 2017, 2018
SPRING ONLY: High School Co-ed Rec Soccer!
7v7 Non-Competitive Co-ed League. This recreational co-ed league will provide an opportunity for Region 10 high school age participants to compete in an organized local league outside of their school. No experience necessary and everyone gets to play. Games will be played on Saturday evenings at Nassahegan. The format is co-ed 7v7 with two 25 minute halves, and is for Burlington and Harwinton residents only. BJSA will split up the teams to ensure a competitive balance. Cost is $50/player.
Every team will require one adult coach/representative.
