We are proud to announce that longtime TYSC coach, recreational director, and executive board member Dennis Fowler was just named the CJSA Northwest District Volunteer of the Year!

Coach Fowler started with our club in 2014, first coaching in-town Rec and then starting his first travel team, the four-time district champion girls Tornadoes’ program. He double-timed it on the sidelines when he started a second travel team, this time leading the boys Torpedoes’ program, who have won three district titles.

Most recently, Coach Fowler played a huge role - and was the “point person” - in a massive, town-wide project to build the Lions Club multi-purpose field in the Plymouth Business Park. The TYSC is responsible for the development and maintenance of the new field, and Coach Fowler has volunteered many hours, and used his many local contacts, to help make the irrigated field playable this year.

He also volunteers his time as a member of the Plymouth RTC, the Plymouth Parks and Rec Commission, and coaches Rec and travel basketball during the winter months.

Coach Fowler will be honored at the CJSA Northwest District annual awards dinner in Danbury on Saturday, January 4th. He is also in the running for the CJSA State Volunteer of the Year.
