Fall 2024

2024 Fall Little League registration for the following divisions opens July 5, 2024:

Tee Ball: Ages 4-5
Coach Pitch Softball & Baseball: Ages 6-8
Minors Softball & Baseball: Ages 9-10
Majors Softball & Baseball: Ages 11-12
Juniors Softball & Baseball: Ages 13-14

Players MUST register in their age appropriate division and attend a Player Evaluation Session if they wish to move up. 


Anyone attempting to register after the August 9th Closing Date will need to email [email protected] for availability.

Age eligibility is determined by Little League International as follows:

If a division cannot field a team, full refunds will be provided.

NOTE ON EQUIPMENT: League will provide a hat/visor and uniform top to each player. Players in our Baseball divisions are required to wear white pants and a protective cup. Players in our Softball divisions are required to wear black pants.

Softball - Fall 2024 (Girls)

2024 Fall Softball Programs


COACH PITCH

AGES: For girls league aged 6-8.

DESCRIPTION: The Coach Pitch Division continues emphasis on instruction, fundamentals and basic rules of the game. In the Coach Pitch Division, girls learn to play softball on a small field focusing on learning positions, fielding, throwing and hitting with 100% coach pitching. All players should learn the standard nine positions defensively. Parent/players can expect initial practices and one to two games per week over the course of the regular season. Games are used for instructional purposes. Scores are not kept and Innings will end when three outs are made or all players bat. Games last for six innings or the 1 hour 30-minute time limit is reached or at the discretion of the Coaches. Per LLI guidelines, teams must be drafted and "play with" requests may not be able to be honored.


MINORS

AGES: For girls league aged 9-10

DESCRIPTION: In the Minors Division, girls learn to pitch and hit kid-pitch. All players should learn the standard nine positions. Trained umpires enforce a combination of rules put forward by Little League International and WDLL. Parent/players can expect 1-2 games per week over the course of the regular season. Little League rules are introduced in a controlled manner. Stealing is allowed but limited. Little Emphasis remains on fundamentals, but situational defense is introduced. All players are placed in the batting line up with minimum playing time dictated by league rules. Scores are kept but league standings are not.


MAJORS

AGES: For girls league aged 11-12

DESCRIPTION: The Majors Division is designed for 10-11 year old girls to begin competitive play. Player maturity, abilities, skill levels and interests are different. The goal of the Majors program is to develop advanced skills. Little League rules are used. Players Pitch 100% of the time. All players are placed in the batting line up with minimum playing time dictated by league rules. Scores and standings are kept. It's likely that the season will be inter-league featuring travel around the district (10-15 miles of WD).


JUNIORS

AGES: For girls league aged 13-14

DESCRIPTION: The Juniors Division is the next stage of softball for girls(ages 13-14) in our community who desire to play competitive softball. The Juniors Division allows players to participate on high school teams, while continuing to play Little League. Most middle school and high school baseball games are played in the afternoon shortly after school. WDLL Juniors games are played in the evenings or weekends with the earliest start time around 5:00 PM. The Junior Division is a very competitive level of play for teenagers. Speed, agility, discipline, focus, knowledge of the game and practice all are important aspects of playing softball on the regulation size field. Play may extend beyond just our local District.

MAJORS

AGES: For boys and girls league aged 11-12

DESCRIPTION: The Majors Division is designed for 10-11 year old girls and boys who play on the Little League playing field (46 foot pitching distance to home plate and 60 foot base paths). Player maturity, abilities, skill levels and interests are different. The goal of the Majors program is to develop advanced skills. Little League rules are used. Players Pitch 100% of the time. Pitch counts are monitored in accordance with Little League rules to protect young arms from overuse. All players are placed in the batting line up with minimum playing time dictated by league rules. Scores and standings are kept. It's likely that the season will be inter-league featuring travel around the district (10-15 miles of WD).


JUNIORS

AGES: For boys and girls league aged 13-14

DESCRIPTION: The Juniors Division is the next stage of baseball for girls and boys (ages 13-14) in our community who desire to continue playing baseball after Little League 50/70. The Juniors Division allows players to participate on high school teams, while continuing to play Little League. Most middle school and high school baseball games are played in the afternoon shortly after school. WDLL Juniors games are played in the evenings or weekends with the earliest start time around 5:00 PM. Playing on the 90′ diamond brings many different aspects of the game into play – it’s REAL Baseball! Leading off, hit & run plays, squeeze plays, pick-off plays, designated hitters. The Junior Division is a very competitive level of play for teenagers. Speed, agility, discipline, focus, knowledge of the game and practice all are important aspects of playing baseball on the regulation size field.

TEE BALL

AGES: For boys and girls league ages 4-5

DESCRIPTION: Tee Ball is for boys and girls who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting, throwing and catching. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee and we work in some coach pitch as the season progresses. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching (score is not kept, all players bat, and positions are rotated). The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball, allow them to experience the value of teamwork, and most of all, have fun!
