Concussion Training

Who is Required to Complete Concussion Training?

All coaches, assistant coaches, referees, team parents, and board members, otherwise known as administrators, are required to complete a concussion training course.

In our efforts to afford all administrators the ability to comply with AB 2007, the State Concussion Education & Training for Administrators, CalSouth has approved acceptance of two online educational concussion certificates. You only need to have at least one of the two following certificates:

CDC Heads Up Concussion

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) Heads Up Concussion free online module has a duration of approximately 30 minutes in length. Once your profile account is created, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with directions on how to access the course. When you are completed, save and print the certificate for your records. Send a copy to the Director of Coaches. Click here for the CDC Heads Up Concussion Training.

National Federation of High Schools (NFHS)

The NFHS has partnered with with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to offer the free Concussion in Sports online course. Once your profile account is created, you will order the course and can begin immediately. When you are completed, save and print the certificate for your records. Send a copy to the Director of Coaches. Click here for the NFHS Concussion in Sports Training.
