2026 Spring Masters Morning Programming

Our morning sculling group will run from March 14th through July 20th. Coached practices run from 5:30 - 7:30 a.m. on Mondays and from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays, out of the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina. The spring season is our championship season and everyone is encouraged to race. However, regatta entry fees are not included in the Spring Masters Morning programming costs.

Spring programming costs include:
  • Practice costs such as equipment & facilities upkeep
  • Membership dues
  • Coaching payroll

Masters Competitive Team Regatta Schedule:
Percy Priest Sprints - March 28th - Hamilton Creek Recreation Area, Nashville, TN
  • A joint effort between NRC and Vanderbilt Rowing. Expect to spend some time racing and some time volunteering.

Dogwood Masters Classic - May 30th - Oak Ridge Rowing Association, Oak Ridge, TN

Indy Summer Sprints - June 20th - Eagle Creek Park, Indianapolis, IN

RowFest National Championships - July 16th through 19th - Ford Lake Park, Ypsilanti, MI

Thank you for seeking out our Learn-to-Row Program.

Our goal is to have this opportunity be enjoyable, safe, and to help develop a passion for the sport of rowing in all participants. By the time you finish this program we look forward to bringing you into our sport's community here in Nashville with several program level options to choose from. We look forward to helping you learn about, and enjoy this sport we love and its balance of self-improvement, teamwork, and fun competitive opportunities. Our practices are held at the Hamilton Creek Marina (2901 Bell Rd) on Percy Priest Lake.

Juniors Program Options

2026 Spring Juniors Programming

Our spring season will run from March 9th through May 23rd, and will include AT LEAST three regattas. Practices run from 4:15 - 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 - 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, out of the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina. Friday's practice will be held from 4:15-6:30 p.m., but will be an optional practice for those who can make it. Practice begins at 4:15 - plan to arrive as early as 4:00 to ensure that we can begin smoothly at 4:15. The spring season is our championship season. Racing will be more intense, and we ask that our competitive athletes attend all practices and races to ensure they have the necessary skill, fitness, and experience to succeed later in the season.

Spring programming costs include:
  • Travel and registration expenses for racing
  • Practice costs such as gasoline and equipment upkeep
  • Membership dues
  • Coaching payroll

North Carolina Rowing Championships - April 18th - Oak Hollow Lake, High Point, NC
  • Travel Friday morning, practice on the course Friday afternoon, race and return Saturday
Dogwood Junior Championships - April 24th through 26th - Oak Ridge Rowing Association, Oak Ridge, TN
  • Travel Friday morning, practice/race on the course Friday afternoon, race Saturday and Sunday, return Sunday evening

The above regattas are confirmed on our schedule. However, we may add more regattas and single-day scrimmages to the schedule, depending on our assessment of the team's capability for back-to-back racing. Additionally, see below for information on Southeast Youth Championships, our regional championship and qualifier for the national championships in June.

Southeast Youth Championships - May 9th through 10th - Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota, FL
  • Travel Thursday evening, practice on the course Friday, race Saturday and Sunday, return Sunday evening.
Due to the high costs of traveling to Sarasota, only select crews will be sent to race. These crews will be decided at the coaches' discretion over the course of the spring season. As such, the cost for attendance is not included in your registration costs. Athletes who are selected to attend will be asked to pay a separate fee to cover these costs. Payment must be received before athletes will be allowed to travel with the team. Crews that place in the top three in their event at SEYC will earn a bid to the Youth National Championships - this will also be a separate cost and charged later.


Divisions:
Competitive Team:
  • For high school athletes and select 8th grade athletes
  • Practices up to six days a week (M/T/W/R/Sa, plus optional practice on Fridays)
  • Attends all local regattas. Select athletes will attend the Southeast Youth Championships in Sarasota, FL.
Development Team:
  • For all middle school athletes
  • Practices up to four days a week (M/W/Sa or T/R/Sa, and welcome at Friday's optional practice)
  • Attends Percy Priest Sprints

During the week, practices run from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Cornelia Fort Airpark in East Nashville. Practices will consist of a mix of lifting, erging, and cross-training. On Saturdays, weather permitting, we'll practice from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina, our on-the-water location. On Saturdays when the weather is too cold or too windy, we'll practice from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Cornelia Fort Airpark.

Winter programming costs include:
  • Registration costs for Tennessee Indoor Rowing Championships
  • Practice costs such as equipment upkeep
  • Membership dues
  • Coaching payroll

Event Schedule:
NRC Ham 'n Egger - November 29th - Hamilton Creek Marina, Nashville
  • Weather dependent mixed scrimmage w/ the Masters team

Shelby Bottom Bi/Triathlon - December 13th - Cornelia Fort Airpark - Open to the public
  • Athletes choose between completing an erg/run or an erg/run/bike. Bikes must be provided by the competitor and checked for safety before race start.

Airpark Winter Olympics - Date TBD - Cornelia Fort Airpark - Open to the public
  • Athletes represent countries and compete across different events to earn medals.

Music City Erg Sprints - Date TBD - Cornelia Fort Airpark - Open to the public
  • Will run on a Saturday in January or February, date dependent on Tennessee Indoors

Tennessee Indoor Rowing Championships - Date TBA - Macclellan Gymnasium, Chattanooga
  • 1-day race - no overnight stay, transport to and from Chattanooga organized by each athlete

  • For high school athletes and select 8th grade athletes

As such, the costs for RowFest ARE NOT INCLUDED in your spring registration costs. Athletes who do compete will be asked to pay for their entries as a separate charge.

Regatta Entries:
Athletes will be allowed to select one "preferred boat" for the season, and the coaches will make their best effort to ensure that those boats are raced at each regatta. Your other entry for each regatta will be made at the coaches' discretion in order to ensure everyone has the opportunity to race their preferred boats. These "coaches' choice" entries may not be consistent from regatta to regatta. Athletes who desire to be entered in more than two events at a given will be invoiced for each entry beyond their "preferred boat" and "coaches choice" entries.

Competitive Team:
  • For experienced rowers and ergers who are looking for a challenge
  • Focused on training for high levels of fitness and readiness to compete in the spring.
  • Technical development will focus on the finer points of the rowing stroke
  • Will race and compete in all Events
Development Team:
  • For beginners, those in their first year of rowing, or those who want a more relaxed training environment
  • Focused on training for basic strength and fitness
  • Technical development will focus on building strong fundamentals
  • May compete in our club-hosted events

2025-26 ANNUAL Student Membership (Non-Voting)

A Student Membership (non-voting) is for individuals who are in college or grad school and would like to participate as a member in Nashville Rowing Club.

Student Member has the ability to row for our Youth or Adult programs depending on age. For those in Adult Programs, they have the ability reserve Club Equipment as long as they are an enrolled student in a school for higher education and have passed the proper certification requirements. Student Members have the ability to use Club Equipment that you can reserve (adults), represent Nashville Rowing at races, have access to pertinent club information, and be a part of our growing family!

Out of Town Membership is available to adults who would otherwise qualify to be Individual Members, but have elected to obtain an Out of Town Membership instead of a Individual Membership, and reside more than seventy miles from the NRC address for federal tax purposes, when measured in a straight line. Out of Town members shall have no voting rights. The use of NRC equipment and facilities by Out of Town members is subject to the restrictions set out in the NRC policy manual. Checking out equipment will only be allowed once an individual is safety check certified.

Juniors/U-23 Summer Programming

2026 Summer Youth Learn To Row

Are you looking to start your child with the sport of rowing? Do you just need to get them out of the house and into the great outdoors for a few hours a day? Our Learn-to-row camps are just right for you! No previous experience is needed, and we welcome all rising 6th graders - seniors. Camps run Monday-Saturday, from 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina (2901 Bell Rd, Nashville, TN 37217). Fees cover the cost of coaching staff, launch gas, and a 2026 NRC Summer Camp tee-shirt!

During a week of camp, athletes will work alongside our current rowers to learn the fundamentals of the sport of rowing, including proper warming up and cooling down techniques, care for and transport of rowing shells and oars, and the basics of the rowing stroke. After a week of camp, athletes will be prepared to join our fall programming. Athletes who are interested in more rowing during the summer are welcome to sign up for multiple weeks of Learn-to-row, and after two weeks (or at the coaches' discretion) of learning will be allowed to join our small boat camps for more opportunities for on-the-water rowing.

2026 Summer Small Boat Camps

Are you looking to continue rowing during the summer break, but need a little more flexibility in which weeks you're out on the water? Are you ready to spend some time honing your sculling skills and building confidence in small boats? Then our Small Boat Camps are the right choice for you! Sessions run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday, out of the Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina. During a week of Small Boat Camp, athletes should expect to develop their capabilities as scullers, boat captains, and teammates through a variety of drills and exercises designed to keep things light and enjoyable. Fees cover the cost of coaching staff, launch gas, and a 2026 NRC Summer Camp tee-shirt!
