Please note: First the first two weeks cheer practice will be held three days a week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8pm. After the first two weeks cheerleaders will practice Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Uniform fittings will be held (To be determined). Please bring a check for your uniform deposit at that time.
Cheer Mascots
A Cheer Mascot is a child interested in Cheerleading but is not the minimum age of 5.
Listed below are the guidelines for Cheer Mascots.
1. Limited to only 1-2 mascots per cheer squad.
2. Mascot registrations must be completed in-person and are based on a first come, first served basis.
3. Child must be age 4 by August 31st.
4. Child must be potty-trained.
5. Parent must be present at all times during practice and games with Mascot.
6. Mascots will not be able to participate in competition.
7. The fee for mascots will be assessed at time of registration.
8. It will be up to the coaches discretion if Mascot participates during the entire practices and/or games.

How old does my child have to be?
5yrs old by Aug. 1st
Where and when do I register?
You can register your child online or at one of our numerous registration events prior to the start of the season. See the registration page and calendar for more details and event dates.
How much does it cost?
The registration fee for cheerleading is $175 plus a $200 uniform deposit check. A $27 City Fee will also be assessed to non-residents of Kennesaw.
What will I need at registration?
If you are not registering online, you will need 3 checks. One for the registration fee and one for the city fee. The third check is for the uniform deposit. It will be held by KYFA and returned to you once the uniform has been turned in.
What items are included in the registration fee?
The registration fee includes: insurance, trophy, bloomers, hair bow, t-shirt, poms, shoes and socks.
What squad will my child cheer for?
Your child will cheer for their age group, if there are enough cheerleaders for a squad IN that age group. If not, your child may cheer for a different age group. It all depends on how many cheerleaders are registered.
Do parents have any obligations during the season?
Parents rotate different job assignments given by the Team Mom. This includes gate or concession duty during practices or home games. Game day assignments will be performed 2 hours prior to your child's game. You may also be asked to assist with game day snacks and/or run through signs.
What can we expect the first few days of practice?
The first day of practice is basically a meeting with introductions, information and becoming familiar with the practice fields and organization.
When are games and practice?
Games are played on Saturday between 9am and 8pm with the younger teams playing earlier in the day. Practices are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm (this may vary a little by coach).
Where do we practice?
At the KMHS track field.
What happens if a game or practice is canceled?
You may be called by a calling post to a number you specify, but checking this website - www.kyfamustangs.com - is always best. Practices may be rescheduled at the discretion of coaches, however, even if it's raining practice may not be canceled.
What if my child does not like it?
Due to our low fees KYFA does not offer refunds.
