About Spring Hill Sports Association

The Spring Hill Sports Association provide a youth sports program for children ages 3-14 who reside in and around Williamson and Maury Counties in Middle Tennessee.  Every child with the desire to participate will get the opportunity to play without regard to prior experience, athletic ability, or financial strains.  All Board Members and Coaching Staff of the Spring Hill Sports Organization shall remember that winning games is secondary to educating and mentoring the children of our program.

Our Mission:
The Spring Hill Sports Association is a non-profit community organization whose mission is to provide an atmosphere for positivity, teamwork, and sportsmanship while developing essential skills and knowledge that our youth will continue to use throughout their lives.

Our mission also includes:

       *   Bringing our youth closer together through common interest in sportsmanship and competition
       *   Acquaint the players with the rules and fundamentals of the sport
       *   Teach sportsmanship, build character and discipline
       *   Encourage the players to maintain satisfactory grades in school
       *   Emphasize the importance of keeping a proper balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors
       *   To promote the physical and emotional well-being of young athletes
       *   Establish an understanding of the commitment necessary to enhance success, both on and off the field
       *   To promote improved community relations by demonstrating an interest in the youth of our community

Community Benefits:
The community benefit of youth sports is hard to measure at the individual program level but it has been researched that young people engaged in sports are more likely to be positively engaged in school, and more likely to resist many risk behaviors.    There is some research evidence that former athletes are more likely to engage in things like voluntarism and voting when they reach adulthood.    There is also practical evidence that sports bring communities together as people convene to watch sporting events and do the myriad things it takes to support youth sports programs.  Taken together, all of these factors argue for the community benefit of youth sports.
