About LCGSA Academy and Club Soccer

About Academy and Select Club Teams: Our academy and select club is a developmental program for players who have developed and are still growing technically, physically, and mentally in the game of soccer. Academy and Select Club teams provide a higher level of training and competitiveness vs recreational programs.

Tryouts are required for our academy and club teams each year in May, with official dates and times posted within our site and social media during the month of April.

Cost: Fees include coaching, fields, equipment, club and state player registration, insurance/liability, and other administrative costs. Uniforms and Tournament fees are separate and vary based on team and season.

Academy (U8/9-U12 Fall and Spring) Fees: $325.00/Season, $650.00/Year

Select Club Teams (U13-U14 Fall and Spring, U15+ Fall Season Only) Fees: $375/Season; $750/U13-U14 Year

Uniforms: Players joining academy and select club teams for the first time must purchase the uniform package (~$200). The uniforms are used on a 2-year cycle, our current uniforms are for Fall 2023 - Spring 2025, with new uniforms needed Fall 2025 - Spring 2027. The basic uniform package includes: 2 jerseys, 2 shorts, 2 socks (all in home and away colors) and training shirts.

Other items including: club soccer bag, warm-up jacket/sweatpants, goalkeeper gear, fan gear etc are optional and can be purchased for an additional cost.

Coaches: Our coaches are licensed, experienced, and attend the same training thorough SCYSA that all other Clubs in our state attend. LCGSA coaches typically move age groups with their teams, as they are better able to understand each players tendencies and spend multiple seasons helping each player move their weaknesses to strengths. This helps to develop each player as a well rounded soccer player.

Teams: LCGSA coaches move with their teams from year to year, providing consistency for your player. With other clubs players are frequently moved between teams and each game can see a different coach for that team. Players can get lost in the large shuffle of teams and coaches. At LCGSA, coaches are expected to be at their games and practices on a regular basis and seek input from other coaches in our league on how to improve players skills and team success.

This allows the players to develop familiarity with each other and a strong chemistry most other club teams cannot match. Players are able to concentrate on improving their overall skills and not focusing on adapting to a new coach every season.

Leagues: Our Academy Teams (U8/9 - U12) play other academy teams in the Midlands and surrounding areas, while our Select Club Teams (U13+) play in a variety of leagues including: PMSL, Challenge, and Open League

Competitiveness: LCGSA teams have been very successful with winning seasons and wins against other clubs in our region. Our teams in all age groups have also placed in tournaments throughout the Southeast regularly.

Finishing up the Spring 2022 season, U10 Thunder finished #1 in their age group, while U12 Cyclones finished #2 in their brackets. U11 Stingers & U9 Earthquakes are finished top 3 and 4. And U10 Storm finished top 5 out of 13, after playing a season up an age bracket in the U11 division.

We currently have a large pool of players in our Club who play soccer for many of the high schools in our area to include: Swansea, Lexington, River Bluff, Gilbert, BC, Airport and PAC.

We Are Growing: This fall we fielded teams in all age groups from U8/9 to U14!
