The Greater Boca Youth Soccer Association’s recreational soccer program is open to school aged children from 5 – 18. Our regular season runs from November to end of February. We practice once during the week, Monday – Thursday evenings, on a day that is chosen by the volunteer coach. Practices sessions start at 6:00pm and 7:30pm.
We model our games and player development after Florida Youth Soccer’s player development progression of age specific, small sided games. Depending on the player’s age, we play anywhere from a 3 v 3 format on a small field progressing up to an 11 v 11 format on a full sized field, with younger children playing small sided games.
Games are play games on Saturday and / or Sunday. At the end of the regular season teams in the Under 9 Division and above participate in a double elimination tournament for Division championship.
Beginning in March, the Division champions represent GBYSA in the East/West Cup and finally the last tournament of the season is the Kohl’s American Cup where players in the U9 – U12 age groups are invited to participate.
GBYSA also has a mini season from late March to mid-May. This is open to players 8 – 12 and is a Co-Ed season played in a 5 v 5 format. In the mini season, we practice one weekday evening, play one weekday evening and play again on Saturday.
