MNSA Petite (U4, U5) & Micro (U6, U7) Division
The Marple Newtown Soccer Association (MNSA) Petite & Micro Division provides a program focused on fun learning at an introductory level for boys and girls 3 through 6 years of age. Each session will include approximately 30 minutes of learning a skill, followed by 30 minutes of scrimmage. Children must be between 3 and 6. The Micro program includes weeknight and Saturday sessions at Worrall Elementary School (2979 Pennview Avenue, Broomall, PA 19008). Petite and Micro Soccer occurs in the Fall starting in September and finishing by November.
Program Outline
- The program will follow the MNSA Coaching Manual - Under 6 & 7, 8 Week Program; the manual includes activities for 8 weeks. The program will be for approximately 10 weeks; therefore an activity can be repeated for the 2 additional weeks.
- Age must be between 3 and 6.
- The Petite & Micro program will take place at the Worrall Elementary School (2979 Pennview Avenue, Broomall, PA 19008) and/or Gable Field (Ellis Avenue and Bishop Hollow Road Newtown Square, PA 19073).
- Each session will be 1 hour in length; approximately 30 minutes for the skill building activity followed by 30 minutes of scrimmage.
- There will be 1 weeknight session on Monday through Thursday for Micro Soccer and 1 weekend session typically held on Saturdays for Petite and Micro Soccer. The weeknight sessions will begin at 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm and the Saturday sessions will begin at 8:00 am and be held every hour throughout the day.
- Weeknight sessions will include approximately 30 minutes for the skill building activity followed by 30 minutes of scrimmage within each team.
- Saturday sessions will include approximately 30 minutes for the skill activity followed by 30 minutes of scrimmage against another team.
- The weeknight sessions will be managed by each groups coach and assistant coaches. Saturday sessions will be managed by trainers if available.
- Players should wear their MNSA provided t-shirt for all sessions.
- There will be no referees, coaches will ensure the safety of the players and fair play.
