Welcome to Jackson Friends Church Adult (18+) Summer Basketball League!

NOTE: This basketball league is a "BRING YOUR OWN TEAM" league, Full Court 5 on 5, for adults who are 18 years of age and older. Cost is $85 PER INDIVIDUAL and guarantees at least 8 games total (seven regular season and one or more playoff games). IF you do not have a team you may try to sign up as a free agent, and if there are enough players to make a team from the free agents that will be done (if not, you will receive a full refund minus $5 ). MINIMUM SEVEN PLAYERS ON A TEAM.

*SUBSTITUTE RULE - each week, teams will be allowed up to two substitute players off the roster to play in game IF they have less than seven players show up. ONE sub for six players, TWO subs for five or less. If you have many players out, and need more than two substitutes to play the game, you may bring more but the game will be an automatic forfeit. But it will still be refereed and played. Only one substitute will be allowed in the playoffs, if a team has five players or less (may be subject to time limits).

This summer, we will split into three divisions (pontentially four):

Competitive Division 1: For those that are still in their prime and competing at the highest level. Recommended that most players should have high school basketball experience and even some with college playing experience. This division is more geared towards prime age teams, with players in there 20s to 30s (but also those with elite experience, slightly older). IF you played last year in this division and were under .500 for the season, you MAY be asked to move to the Competitive Division 2, to keep this group the most competitive. The competitive division will play games once a week on TUESDAYS OR THURSDAYS (may be some of both, depending on sign ups).

Competitive Division 2: Also for those players still around their prime and competiting at a high level. Some players may have high school basketball experience, but not many with college experience. Competitive athletes will still do well in this level. This division is still geared towards highly competitive teams, that can get up and down the floor, players from just out of high school, to those who "still got it" in their late 30s and early 40s. . IF you played last year in this division and were under .500 for the season, you MAY be asked to move to the Rec Division, to keep this group more competitive. The competitive division will play games once a week on TUESDAYS AND/OR THURSDAYS (LIKELY will be some of both, depending on sign ups).

Recreational Division(s): More suited more for less competitive players out of high school or guys trying to get a good run in, as well as those players that are past their prime and/or in their 40s. The recreational division will play games once a week on MONDAYS AND/OR THURSDAYS (likely a mix of both). IF we have a good mix of young and old teams in this group, we will split into two divisions, younger and older.

The league regular season runs from June 1 through July 16 (seven regular season games). Single Elimination Playoffs for ALL TEAMS will take place on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday starting July 20 and ending by August 6 (at the latest, depending on how many teams in each division). Games will start as early as 5:30 PM, with the latest game starting at 9:10 PM. Two certified OHSAA referees will be at each game. The games will consist of two 20 minute halfs on a running clock, with stoppages on dead balls under one minute in the first half, and two minutes in the second half (including made baskets). Before each game we will have a prayer and a short devotion for teams at half time.

The costs for the league registration will be $85 per individual, and an additional $20 IF a jersey is needed (all jerseys worn must be JFC jerseys, UNLESS you have appropriate matching jerseys). Jerseys run a little big, but close to size.

HOW TO CREATE YOUR TEAM:

While this is a competitive league, we will not allow poor behavior on the court. A technical by a referee will result in a 5 minute sitting penalty (player may be replaced), while two technical fouls in a game will result in an ejection. 

Any player removed from the league for disciplinary reasons will not receive a refund.

$5 may be withheld if a player chooses to withdrawal from league after sign ups. Refunds after the season begins will be up to the director.
