This guidance is meant to build on the rules provided by Little League.


Any questions, concerns, or feedback can be discussed with a board member. 

Majors Guidance

  • 6 inning games. Decision to call game early shall be made based on safety due to weather and / or lighting and at the majority vote between the two opposing head coaches and the home plate umpire.  Note: A full 3 innings are required (2 1/2 if home team is winning) for the game to count towards the Little League requirement for games played. 

  • Each player must play at least one inning per three innings played in the field and bat at least once per game.

  • 15 run rule after 2 ½ innings, 10 run rule after 3 ½ innings.

  • The home team is responsible for the official scorebook. 

  • The home team gets the field ready for the game. The visiting team rakes and drags the field after the game. Checklist posted by bases & equipment.

Big Minors Division Guidance:

  • No new inning started after 1:45 minutes from start time except during playoffs where efforts should be made to play full games. Decision to call game early shall be made based on safety due to weather and / or lighting and at the majority vote between the two opposing head coaches and the home plate umpire. 

  • The defensive team must have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 in the field.

  • Free substitutions

  • Coaches are encouraged to swap infield and outfield each inning except during the playoffs. 

  • Each player must play at least one inning in the infield per game per 3 innings played in the field.

  • Player Pitch. After 4 balls the offensive team’s coach comes in to pitch. (Coach should pitch from the pitching rubber. The coach should pitch standing up, not from a knee)

  • A pitcher may walk a maximum of 3 batters per inning or 6 batters per game before they need to be replaced with a new pitcher.  The offensive team's coach shall finish any inning a pitcher is removed from except in the playoffs. 

  • When a defensive team has exhausted all pitching, the offensive team's coach can pitch the remainder of the game. 

  • Max of 5 runs per inning except for the last inning. 

  • 10 run rule after 3 ½ innings.

  • No Bunting. 

  • No Leading. No Stealing.

  • No Infield Fly.

  • Running on an overthrow is not permitted.

  • A base hit on the ground in the infield is a maximum of a double.

  • A batted ball that lands in the outfield grass is allowed unlimited bases until fielded by an outfielder. No running during the throw in or on overthrows.

  • The home team gets the field ready for the game. The visiting team rakes and drags the field after the game. Checklist posted by bases & equipment.

Little Minors Division Guidance:

  • No new inning started after 60 minutes from start time. First 30 minutes allocated to team warm ups. 

  • Defensively,  coaches are encouraged on the field during play (coaching).

  • Coaches are encouraged to swap infield and outfield each inning.

  • Each player must play at least one inning in the infield per game.

  • The defensive coach should call outs in the field.  

  • Coach pitch.  Goal of 4 good pitches to hit. A tee is used to finish an at bat as needed. (the goal is to encourage play in play)

  • No score - Bat entire roster.

  • If a batter or runner is out they will still return to the bench however the outs are not counted.

  • Running on an overthrow is not permitted.

  • Max 2 bases on a hit to the outfield. 

  • No Bunting.

  • No Leading. No Stealing. 

  • No sliding headfirst unless returning to a base.  

  • Free substitutions.

  • The home team gets the field ready for the game. The visiting team rakes and drags the field after the game. Checklist posted by bases & equipment.
