The success of Reedley Little League depends on the dedication of parents, guardians, and community volunteers. Alongside their children, they work together with league officials, umpires, coaches, and sponsors to create a positive and meaningful experience for young athletes.

At its core, Little League is a volunteer-driven effort led by parents who want to give their kids the opportunity to learn and grow through baseball. Parents and guardians play a crucial role by volunteering, fundraising, and supporting league operations to help keep the program running smoothly.

To support families, Little League provides helpful resources through Little League University (LittleLeagueU.org) and The Parent Connection (LittleLeague.org/Parents), a monthly e-newsletter offering updates on rules, registration, safety tips, and equipment recommendations. These tools help parents stay informed and involved in their child’s Little League journey.

PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

As a member of the team, I understand that it is my responsibility to attend all team activities and to listen to and respect my coach during practices and games. I will also put in the effort to improve my skills by practicing on my own outside of team practices. Most importantly, I will always show good sportsmanship toward my teammates and opponents, as well as respect the authority of coaches and umpires on the field.

Players are expected to:

  • Show respect to all coaches, teammates, league officials, umpires, spectators, and opponents.

  • Be a supportive and fair teammate.

  • Give 100% effort in practices and games—always hustle.

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship and teamwork at all times.

  • Follow instructions given by the coaching staff.

  • Make every effort to be on time and prepared for games and practices.

  • Follow safety guidelines and avoid actions that could endanger others on the field.

  • Properly care for league equipment.

  • Respect other players’ equipment and only use it with permission.

  • Honor the game of baseball by knowing and following the rules, staying composed even when calls don’t go your way, and respecting the decisions of umpires and coaches.

Players must not:

  • Use abusive or inappropriate language.

  • Taunt, tease, or embarrass another player.

  • Argue an umpire’s call.

  • Mistreat or misuse league equipment or property (e.g., throwing batting helmets).

  • Use “chatter” meant to distract an opposing pitcher or batter—cheering should support your team, not disrespect the other.

Disciplinary Policy for Players

The Reedley Little League Board of Directors will review all reported incidents of behavior that negatively impact the game. Decisions will be made by a simple majority vote.

Umpires and League Officials have the authority to enforce penalties based on the severity of the infraction, which may include removal from a game or suspension for an entire season. A second season-long suspension may result in a permanent ban from all RLL activities.

The ejected individual must leave the park grounds and relocate to an area where they are neither visible nor audible to players, coaches, umpires, or spectators for the remainder of the game. Threats made by a player, parent, or any other individual will not be tolerated and could result in suspension for up to one year from RLL.
