Code of Conduct

Last Updated: 8/23/2022

The purposes of Little League are “to assist youth in developing qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being, with proper guidance and exemplary leadership.” The Beverly Hills Little League (“BHLL”) has instituted this Code of Conduct to ensure that the behavior and conduct of all participants in BHLL activities are consistent with and further these purposes.

Players, managers, coaches, parents, league officials, umpires, scorekeepers, announcers, and spectators all share the responsibility to display proper behavior at all times. Unsportsmanlike conduct or disrespect for the game, league officials, opposing coaches and teams, umpires and game officials, scorekeepers, and spectators will not be tolerated during any BHLL activities.

The President of the BHLL or the Board of Directors may take disciplinary action against any participant—including players, coaches, parents, umpires, league officials, and spectators—whose conduct is detrimental to the operation and purpose of BHLL. This Code of Conduct includes specific examples but is not exhaustive.

Disciplinary action includes: reprimands, game ejections, suspensions, or expulsion from the league.

Player Code of Conduct

Players must follow this Code of Conduct during all BHLL activities. Violations may result in ejection, reprimand, suspension, or expulsion.

    • 3-game suspension if during a game
    • 4-game suspension if outside a game
  • Mandatory participation in post-game cheer and handshake. Noncompliance results in a one-game suspension.
  • Two ejections in one season = suspension for the season and ineligibility for postseason.
  • Ejected players may remain in dugout or be asked to leave at umpire’s discretion.
  • Suspensions take effect immediately upon notification by the BHLL President.

  • Ejected managers/coaches must immediately leave the field and spectator area.
