Rec & Ed programs are great places to lean to play field hockey. These are often group training and small games for youth in your local community. They are normally offered by school based or community education programs and are open to all participants at every level.
There are various training programs you can sign your child up for around the state. Different groups host these in multiple locations at different times of the year. We will keep offerings for clinics on our calendar events pages. You can check that here. You can also check with various groups who host or organize these events. Training clinics are generally open to all youth at all levels.
There are several USA Field Hockey member clubs in Michigan who have travel teams. Several have U10 and U12 teams or training opportunities for those age groups. These are for players who are interested in playing all year and improving their skills. You can contact the various clubs about their travel teams.

Rec & Ed programming is growing in Michigan!
Since 2020, USA Field Hockey has continued to bring Discover Field Hockey programming to Michigan communities. These events have been an outstanding success as we work to grow the game!
Hundreds of boys & girls ages 5-17 have participated in Discover events, and all leave with new sticks in their hands, ready to play!
USA field hockey coaches are working to grow the game across Michigan.
