In June of 2023, we took a group of 2012, 2011 and 2010 boys to Italy for a trip of a lifetime. During their 8 day trip, the players stayed in Montecatini (Tuscany), Rimini (Adriatic Coast) and Rome where they balanced time on the field and sightseeing. The boys played games in each of the three cities and took part in training sessions in Florence and Rome with Italian coaches from professional clubs. 

On the field, the group formed fantastic memories with Italian teams and coaches. In their last game, the team boys through a traditional jersey exchanged with their opponent; bringing home a piece of Italian football with them like their favorite players. Their Italian opponent had a another game shortly after and ended up playing in FC Portland gear!

Off the field, players and parents enjoyed visits of the Vatican City, Colosseum and Olympic Stadium. The parents also got to experience an Italian wine tasting and farmhouse dinner, enjoying a bit of time away from the players. 

This experience was one to remember for our players and parents. As a club, we are committed to bringing these abroad opportunities to all our players at some point in time during their FC Portland tenure.
