2026 SEASON PLAYER EVALUATION INFORMATION:
Evaluations are necessary and required by Little League to establish balanced teams.
ALL PLAYERS LEAGUE AGE (LA) 9 & OLDER SHOULD ATTEND ONE EVALUATION DAY.
ANYONE WANTING TO PLAY UP A DIVISION, MUST ATTEND ONE EVALUATION TO BE CONSIDERED.
For example, a LA 8-year-old who is wanting to be considered for Minor A (10U) MUST be evaluated and
selected by a manager during the draft.
Evaluations will be held at the Pinon Mesa Middle School (PMMS) and Chaparral High School fields (9258 Malpaso Road, Phelan).
After Checking in at Chaparral, Baseball players will report to PMMS and Softball Players will report to Chaparral field.
(Both fields are located at the intersection of Malpaso Road and Nielson Road).

-Should my player attend both dates?
No, choose which date and time block works best for your family; and only attend one of the two offered evaluation days.
-What should my player bring to evaluation?
Players should come dressed in athletic clothing, bring their bat, helmet and glove. SCLL will provide bats/helmets for day use if needed.
-What will my player be evaluated on?
Players will be evaluated in agility, fielding, hitting, catching and throwing. All registered players who attend evaluations will be rostered.
Does my LA 7-year-old need to be evaluated?
No, players LA 7 and under do not need to attend an evaluation. Only LA 8-year-olds who want to be considered to play up a division should attend.
What if my player misses evaluations?
All players should make their best efforts to attend an evaluation so the managers can select balanced teams. If your player misses both opportunities but is registered, please email [email protected] to request for a board approval exemption.
Do I need a medical release form?
Yes, a completed medical release form is required prior to a player being evaluated. You can download the medical release form at www.sunsetcll.com and it will be provided at the check-in tables. You may also turn-in a school enrollment form at evaluations OR these forms can be uploaded to your Sports Connect account.
