About RFFL

We are a very different experience than some of the other flag leagues you may have heard of or been a part of with your older kids from rules, referees, and team setup and our motivation to make our RFFL the best community league available. We know you will appreciate the work, planning, communication and attention to detail that makes the league a success.

We work together with the parent coaches to split the kids up in each division with the goal of creating fair and balanced teams by grade/skill level. Our league is open only to Roslyn & East Williston School Districts.

Registration will include:

• Team reversible jersey

• FLAG belt

• Player accident and health insurance coverage

• Trophies, awards and pizza/beverages for all players and spectators at our Super Bowl

• All division Super Bowls are professionally recorded and links provided to everyone.

We wanted to address a few frequently asked questions:

Q: When does the season start/end?

A: We will start Spring Season the beginning of April and play up until mid June

Q: What is the schedule for each Division?

A: Most Divisions will play on Saturdays but based on enrollment numbers we may need to play some of the younger divisions (Pre-K, Girls K & 1st, Girls 2nd & 3rd) on Sunday afternoons.

Q: What is the committment?

A: Players/Parents are expected to show good faith and honor their commitment to the league. Any player who cavalierly withdraws from the league after their division’s draft is subject to not being invited back to play the following season. We understand some kids have conflicts but we ask that you do not sign up if you cannot prioritize showing up to the majority of the regular season games and the playoffs.

Q: Do I need to organize a group, create or join a team before registering my child?

A: No. We don't register full teams but actually work with the coaches before the season starts and split the kids up in the fairest way possible to try and avoid the “Super Team" or "Friends Team" that leaves certain kids out.  We have done this for years and we have been very successful in creating the best competitive balance possible. Please do not request team placement so we can best handle this process. Kids may be nervous that they won't know anybody but they very quickly make new friends from the other elementary schools and play with and against the kids they already know. Our own kids have been through this and have made best friends with kids they would not have otherwise met.

Trust us, we have done this for years and know how to make this work successfully.

Q: Can I coach?

A: Yes. The league only works with parent involvement so please volunteer and register to coach so we can create the most successful divisions possible. Please indicate on the registration form that you would be willing to volunteer and register as well. We will be in touch prior to the season if we need your assistance.

Q: Are your rules and format the same as the other flag leagues?

A: Not exactly. We are a town league that is very focused on our parents and kids, not profit. We work hard in making things consistent and convenient by paying for permits to play on our local school fields and financially support the district. We put a tremendous amount of personal effort into every detail of the league and are extremely hands-on. We will get to know you and your children and create a terrific environment for them. We use 2 man referee crews for each game that have been working with us for years and know how to make it fun and help the coaches and kids to get the most out of the experience. We provide a safe, fun experience for everyone! Parents, you will enjoy watching it too!

Q: Are you looking for Sponsors?

A: Yes we are. There are some kids that need financial help to pay for the registration fees and we make sure money does not prevent any kids from playing. We also look for corporate sponsors who will be featured on our equipment, website and Super Bowl so please email us if you would be willing to sponsor or know someone who needs help with the registration fee. We also make donations to charities and organizations that are near and dear to our community and  so your participation supports great causes!

Q: What is the financial aid process?

A: Requests for Financial Aid should be directed to [email protected]. Simply supply your name, phone number and email address and we will contact you within a few days. All inquiries will be handled confidentially.

If you have any additional questions, please let us know and we will get back to you ASAP. We are very responsive to emails.

Thank you for all of your support and welcome to RFFL

Project SEFU - Going The Distance
Fundraiser for Cole Faller

As our Fall Season is coming to a close over the next few weeks, we want to thank everyone for being part of the league. We also want to make sure
everyone is aware of the important fundraiser for our Roslyn Flag Football family member, Cole Faller...

Since Craig Faller, Mark Pnini and I have taken over the Roslyn Flag Football League in 2018, we have always tried our best to create a community league that provides an inclusive, first class organization for the fun and enjoyment of our children and families. Your participation has also provided an opportunity to cross promote events and donate to charities and causes on behalf of the league that are close to our hearts. We now have a cause that has hit home directly and we want to make our member families aware so we can come together as a community to help Cole and the Faller family.

As some of you may already know Craig Faller's teenage son, Cole has been diagnosed and is being treated for an extremely rare soft tissue form of cancer called Sclerosing Epithelioid Fibrosarcoma ("SEF"). SEF is aggressive and has a high recurrence rate and potential for metastasis. Not much else is known about SEF, and there is currently no treatment or cure in the United States.

Cole is a brave, resilient, fierce young man who continues to help others while fighting a battle of his own. His story is documented below in his own words explaining his fight, treatment plan and why he is raising money for "PROJECT SEFU".

The League has made a donation and we hope that everyone will support Cole and PROJECT SEFU.

Please click the Link link below and read Cole's story and to make a donation.

We appreciate everyone that is part of our league and know that we can make a difference if we all come together to help a cause. We will continue to keep you updated on PROJECT SEFU on our website, emails and correspondence throughout the season.

Sincerely,

Keith & Mark on behalf of
