District 18 Champions

The West Nyack-Nanuet 12 Year Old Softball All-Stars are the District 18 Champions!!! They defeated New City last night in an extremely tight game, with a final score of 7-6. The team was down 0-5 after 3 innings, when the bats came alive in the 4th inning and they scored 4 runs.

They then shut down New City's offense, and also scored 3 more runs in the top of the 6th to take and keep the lead. Kiersten Nally struck out the last 2 batters to seal the win and prevent the tying run on 3rd base to score. Kiersten had a total of 7 strikeouts on the night, allowing only 2 walks.

The team's defense allowed a remarkable zero stolen bases. Abby Drew was 3 for 3 on the night, Amaya Santana had a single and a double. Nally, Addison McDonough, and Kristin Pfister each contributed a hit.

Congratulations, team, on this huge accomplishment! The girls move on this week to the Section Tournament.
