2024 Spring Baseball and Softball - Introductory

T-Ball (Coed)

Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Sessions: 1 game and 1 clinic per week on Tuesday/Thursday beginning May 2nd

Event time: 5:45pm-7:15pm

Location: Various fields around town (Heffler Park, Sargent, Lilja, Ben Hem, Johnson, West Hill Park)

Players hit from a batting tee and play conventional positions in the field.

Practice sessions with just the team will also be held in the middle of April with other TBALL teams in preparation of the start of the official season in May.

*Players who are in 1st grade can choose TBALL or Single A. This is a family decision.

*Players who are in 1st grade are NOT allowed to play in Double A.

NEW! Wiffle Ball (Coed)

Pre-Kindergarten

Sessions: 1 game per week on Sundays

Event time: 4:00pm-5:00pm

Location: Hunnewell field 1

New this year, Natick Little League is excited to offer a wiffle ball program for pre-K children. Introduce your son or daughter to the game in this fun and safe environment.

2024 Spring Baseball and Softball - Beginner

Natick Little League beginner leagues include Beginner Softball, Single A Baseball, and Double A Baseball.

These programs emphasize fundamentals and team building. The focus is introducing the game, developing skills, and having fun!

Beginner Softball

1st Grade and 2nd Grade

Sessions: 1 practice on Wednesdays and 1 practice + game on Saturdays

Event time:

Practice from 5:45-7:00 PM

Practice + game from 12:00-1:30 PM (the first Saturday will be practice and the following Saturdays will be 30 min of practice + 60 min of games)

Location: Murphy Field

Beginner Softball is coach-pitch for the duration of the season. A batting tee is placed for players who have not made contact with the ball after a reasonable amount of pitches as determined by the coaches.

The teams are coached by parent volunteers and practices are facilitated by coaches and our partners at Next Pitch.

Single A Baseball

1st Grade and 2nd Grade

Sessions: 1 game and 1 clinic per week on Tuesday/Thursday beginning April 22nd

Event time: 5:45pm-7:15pm

Location: Various fields around town (Heffler Park, Sargent, Lilja, Ben Hem, Johnson, West Hill Park)

Players play conventional positions in the field.

*Players in 1st grade can choose Single A or TBALL to participate. This is a family decision.

*Players in 2nd grade can play Double A or Single A. This is a family decision.

Double A Baseball

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade

Sessions: 1 game and 1 clinic per week on Monday/ Wednesday beginning April 22nd

Event time: 5:45pm-7:15pm

Location: Various fields around town (Heffler Park, Sargent, Lilja, Ben Hem, Johnson, West Hill Park)

Coach pitch for the duration of the season, with an emphasis on pitching in clinics and at the end of the season.

Players play conventional positions in the field.

*Players in 2nd grade can play Double A or Single A. This is a family decision.

*Players in 3rd grade can tryout for AAA - if they are not selected, they will automatically make a Double A team.

Beginner Softball (grades 1-2)

Junior Softball League

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade

Games: Tue/Thu/Sat

Location: Murphy Field

Start time of games:

6:00pm for weeknights

Saturday afternoons

Junior League softball is an instructional league that serves as an introduction to competitive softball with standings and playoffs.

Players will be assigned to teams in an effort to form a competitively balanced league.

Senior Softball League

6th, 7th, and 8th grade

Games: Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat

Location: Coolidge Field

Start time of games:

6:00pm for weeknights

Saturday afternoons

Senior League softball is a competitive league with standings and playoffs, but still instructional.

Players will be assigned to teams in an effort to form a competitively balanced league.

Majors

4th, 5th, and 6th grade

Practices: throughout the month of April depending on when the fields are released by the town

Games: Mon/Wed/Fri

Start time of games: 5:45pm for weeknights

Location: All games are played at the Hunnewell Fields

Competitive league, but still instructional, with standings and playoffs.

Teams are formed by player tryout and coach draft.

Players must tryout to be eligible for draft onto a majors team.

All players who were in majors last year return to majors automatically the year after.

Players in majors are guaranteed three innings of play each game.

Triple A

3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade

Practices: throughout the month of April depending on when the fields are released by the town

Games: Tuesday/Thursday and some Fridays or Sundays

Start time of games:

5:45pm for weeknights

5:00pm for Sundays

Location: All games are played at the Hunnewell Fields

Competitive league, but still instructional, with standings and playoffs.

Teams are formed by player tryout and coach draft.

All 6th graders who are not drafted in majors are automatically placed on a Triple A team. The rest of the roster is made up of players who tryout from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

All players who are not in 6th grade must tryout in order to be selected to at least a Triple A team.

A player who was on a AAA roster is guaranteed to make at least AAA the following season.

This league utilizes a continuous batting order and free substitution.

All players in attendance play at least three defensive innings in the field.

Babe Ruth

7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade

Practices: throughout the month of April depending on when the fields are released by the town

Games: throughout the week, no set days. Games on Saturdays and Sundays as well.

Start time of games:

5:45pm for weeknights

Various times on weekends

Location: All games are played at Coolidge, Wilson or Dover-Sherborn fields

Teams are coach-drafted, with a minimum of 12 players on a roster.

Game schedule will include a minimum of 12 games in the regular season, plus playoffs

Bat restrictions: Babe Ruth allows BBCOR bats - that must be drop 3 OR any USA stamped baseball bat
