This is how All Star Teams are selected at Edwardsburg Little League:
Players must have participated in at least 80% of regular season scheduled games to be eligible for All Stars and must attend at least 75% of All Star practices and all All Star games (unless injury or sickness occurs). If a player does not meet the All Star requirements after being selected (unless absences are approved by the League President or Director), they will not be eligible for All Stars the following season. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ELL President or one of the Directors.
Machine Pitch Baseball/Softball: Coaches will meet prior to the end of the season (end of May, beginning of June) to pick 12-15 players they believe are deserving of being All Stars. Parents will be contacted to let them know that their son/daughter was selected to the All Star team. If any player cannot participate (due to injury, sickness, or they are not available), there will not be any restrictions for the next season and they will be eligible for All Stars. Players who "play up" a division (play the regular season in Minor Baseball/Softball), and fall in the age range for Machine Pitch, are eligible to play on the Machine Pitch All Star Team.
Minor Baseball/Softball and Major Baseball/Softball: Coaches will meet prior to the end of the season (middle to end of May) to pick 20-25 players they believe are deserving of being All Stars. These players will be invited to try out for a position on the All Star team. Immediately after tryouts, all Coaches from that Division will meet (along with the Director) and determine the All Star Team. These teams will consist of 12-14 players. Parents will be contacted to let them know that their son/daughter was selected to the All Star team. If any player cannot participate (due to injury, sickness, or they are not available), there will not be any restrictions for the next season and they will be eligible for All Stars. Players who "play up" a division (play the regular season in Major Baseball/Softball), and fall in the age range for Minors, are eligible to play on the Minor All Star Team.
Intermediate and Junior Baseball/Softball: Teams will be decided by the Coaches in that Division.
