FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS TRAVEL BASEBALL EXPENSIVE? In many organizations, yes. There are Academy based teams that pay coaches to manage their teams and provide off-season instruction. Woodstock Heat is available at a reasonable cost, and we allow each team's families to fully define the experience they receive. We work to recruit qualified volunteers to manage our teams and further offset registration fees through corporate sponsorships. Every opportunity is provided to ensure each child who makes a team is able to play on that team.
DO I HAVE TO TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES? No, all of our games are typically an hour or less away. We are fortunate that Northern Illinois plays host to many highly competitive tournaments. All of our home games are on fields in Woodstock
DOES MY CHILD REALLY NEED TO PLAY TRAVEL BASEBALL? That depends. If your child is very focused and wants to play high school or college baseball then we fully recommend travel baseball.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO PLAY ON A HEAT TEAM? Tryouts are held annually in July for the next season. Practices begin in January with games beginning in April. You will try out for the age that you will be on April 30th the following year.
