Calling all volunteers

Now that fall ball has finished the 2022 season is over and it is time to start looking forward to 2023. We have lost a majority of our board members for various reasons. Before we can embark on the 23 season we need to have more people step into roles and help get BGLL prepared for a great season. The officers required by little league are as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Player Agent, Coaching Coordinator, and Safety Officer, known as the Board of Directors. In addition to these rolls there is a host of support positions that are critical to having a successfully run league. These positions are Softball VP, Baseball VP, Concessions Manager, Equipment Manager, Field Maintenance Manager, UIC(Umpire in Charge) Sponsorship/Fundraising Manager, Information Officer, Marketing Director.

Post Covid there has been a steady decline in participation. Not only from athletes but also in volunteers to make the league run. Little League is 100% volunteer ran. There are no paid positions and cannot be done efficiently with minimum staff. For BGLL to have a successful season we must recruit more people to share in the responsibilities of the league. Not everyone fits into these roles. Some people want to help and don’t know where to. Anyone that wants to give time, BGLL will help find a role for them to fill. Current positions that are filled.

We will hold a meeting on Nov 16th @ 7pm to fill these Vacant positions. Please RSVP with an email to [email protected]. In the email please give your name, Phone number, and position or positions that you are interested in. After I have a List of who is attending we will secure a venue that will accommodate. I look forward to meeting you and collaborating to support the kids at BGLL. This meeting is solely to find more volunteers. Once we have these in place we will vote them into effect and plan our next board meeting.
