LASC 3V3 Program

3v3 Training and Tournaments -  A new program for LASC to offer in the 5-week break period between the fall season and winter season.  

Why should we offer this as an option for our players?

In 3v3 there are fewer players on the field meaning each player has more opportunities to touch the ball, this will allow them to use and improve their soccer skills. With playing small-sided games we can develop the player’s decision-making, technical attributes, tactical knowledge, and physical conditioning through functional movements. Small-sided soccer is always FUN and allows more opportunities to score. Scoring can increase self-esteem, character development and team chemistry! This will be a great lead into the winter season. Malcolm Gladwell states that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to achieve mastery of complex skills. 

Benefits of playing 3v3:

1. More touches on the ball
2. Increased number of game related decision-making opportunities
3. Constant transition from attacking to defensive situations
4. Increased 1 vs. 1 encounter in both attacking and defending situations
5. Increased opportunities to utilize specific ball skills
6. Increased opportunity to be in a goal scoring position
7. Increased opportunities to be in a 2 vs. 1 attacking and defending situation

Max - 6 players 

Min - 3 players 

5-week season

1 Practice a week per team 

Start Week Commencing - Nov 22^nd (First practice will depend on schedule once data is collected).
