Greetings from Stafford Springs Soccer Club
Youth Soccer protocols in Stafford Springs, CT
Executive Summary
Return To Play Update effective Fall 2022 and ongoing
Guidance for COVID-19 protocols surrounding players, coaches and spectators for outdoor youth soccer has been updated as of August 17, 2021 by CJSA, our state governing body. The guidance reflects the latest CDC practices and allows for local stricter discretion on implementation and facility requirements. This guidance continues through the 2023 calendar year.
In accordance with CJSA’s return to play protocol, SSSC has developed the following policies. CJSA’s sanction to play and accompanying insurance will only be in effect if there is compliance with these protocols.
The CJSA guidance, along with background and detailed protocols can be found on the CJSA.org website or click on Covid-19 Guidance Fall 2021. Not knowing is not a reason for non-compliance.
In a nutshell,
(1) masks are not required outdoors by players and coaches but are allowed; social distancing will be practiced;
(2) masks are not required outdoors by spectators but social distancing between families / pods is recommended;
(3) players should minimize sharing of any equipment - bring own ball, water bottle, pinnie, let coaches handle cones, etc;
(4) stay home if you are sick;
(5) the protocols for quarantining and isolating, and subsequent return to play after a Covid+ infection or exposure are quite detailed based on vaccination status and other factors. Follow the detailed document above. It is strongly encouraged for an athlete recovering from a symptomatic infection to be cleared by a doctor before returning to play.
Feel free to direct any questions to either of us. Thank you for your understanding.
