How do I volunteer?
Four steps to register as an SSSC volunteer (any coach, assistant coach, administrator)
1. Enroll to create a personal profile. Use the Register button on the home page or do this as part of registering your child. Use your full name as it appears on government documents (such as your driver's license). This is important for your background check.
2. Complete the CDC Heads Up Concussion Awareness training online at www.cdc.gov. Save a copy of the completion certificate and upload it to your personal profile. This takes about 30 minutes or so. Effective January 1, 2022 this is optional but recommended. Safesport training includes a similar concussion awareness module.
3. Complete the Safesport training module. Go to http://cjsa.org and scroll to the bottom for the Safesport Training. Register for the code to get the course at no charge and take the course. Save a copy of the completion certificate and upload it to your personal profile. This takes 2-3 hours and not necessary to do so in a single sitting. If you have previously completed a Safesport training module, you will need to take a refresher training module. This can be initiated from your personal profile in Sports Connect.
4. Submit request for a background check. This is included in the enrollment process. There are a couple other waivers in the enrollment process but all are clearly presented.
If you are already enrolled and need to re-enter your profile, navigate to your My Account. There you can edit your profile and you can see what Volunteer Opportunities (right hand side of the screen).
