The tournament is held at Ryan Park the first weekend in August.  All U8, U10, U13, U15 and U19 teams in the KCYSA will participate and each team will play a minimum of three games, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.  We will follow all SAY rules for the tournament with the following exceptions and/or additions:

  1. All games for U8 will be 8 minute quarters. All games for U10, U13, and U15 will be 10-minute quarters, with 1 minute between quarters, and a 2-minute halftime.  Games for U19 will be 20-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime.
  2. Home team will be on left side of field, as facing the spectators. Teams will switch sides each quarter/half.
  3. Away team will kickoff 1st & 3rd quarters, home team will kickoff 2nd & 4th quarters.
  4. Points for games will be awarded as follows:
    1. 5 points for a win
    2. 2 points for a shutout
    3. 3 points for a tie
    4. 1 point for each goal up to 3 goals (win or lose)
    5. 8 points for a forfeit
  5. Top two teams in each age group with the highest point average will play in a championship game. 
  6. In the event of a tie in points, the following tiebreakers will be used in this order to determine the teams in the championship game. 
    1. Head to head winner in the tournament
    2. Best won/lost record during tournament
    3. Lowest goals allowed per game average
    4. Highest average per game point total
    5. Shoot off consisting of 5 penalty kicks each (all divisions except U8)
    6. Coin toss
  7. Should the championship game end in a tie, the teams will play additional 5-minute quarters until one team scores a goal.  
  8. Any player, coach or spectator receiving a red card or violating the code of conduct will not be allowed to remain at the tournament for the remainder of the day.
  9. All games and calls are final. No protests are allowed.

In an effort to support the KCYSA mission, we will present an award to the team showing the best sportsmanship. This award is based on the attitude and actions of all players, coaches, and spectators throughout the season.  Please attend our year-end picnic and awards, which will take place on Sunday @ 2:00 PM. Championship games will follow immediately after the conclusion of the picnic!
