CDO Soccer Club - Statement

Dear Parents,

The demand for the U5-U10 CDO Player Development Pathway has been very high this year!

One thing requested by our membership from the 2014-15 season, (and we listen!), was to keep the player to coach ratio lower, and this is something we've agreed to do in order to best serve our players.

In other words, we are only going to take as many players as we have coaches to effectively help them, rather than take too many players and then try to find coaches who do not meet the standards we set to work with our young players.

With this in mind, some age groups may be full even before we're able to open registration for new players on May 8th. That's where you come in!
Any parents of potential new players willing to take coach education and engage in ongoing learning will have their child in that age group automatically accepted, (subject to passing all background checks and registering for coaching courses).
Remember, we have an online database of coaching activities, offer free basic coach education (including USSF courses in the north west this fall), and offer free professional support from experienced coaches during practice sessions. Did I mention all that was free already?

It is not fair to anyone if we take 30 players in an age group and only have one coach who cannot always be there, so help be part of the solution to this challenge - step up to coach!

Many thanks,

Steve Wallace
