CDO Summer Program 2013

50/50 PROMO REGISTRATION IS NOW COMPLETE - SINGLE MONTH & FULL PROGRAM REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN NOW ON A LIMITED BASIS FOR THE 2013 CDO SUMMER PROGRAM

The CDO Summer Program for 2013 is ready to go!

With sessions five nights a week for six weeks, this is a great way to keep kids active over the summer. Open to players aged 9-16, (watch out for our summer youth sessions for 5-8 year olds, coming soon...), it is strictly on a first come, first served basis, and fills up fast every season.

Registration opens exclusively to current CDO players on February 4th, all other players on February 11th, 2013. Partial registration (single months only), will open on March 1st, 2013,  on a limited basis.

This year we're focusing on the development of individual flair with a series of games and activities each night to improve technique, designed to bring out the creative side of our players. Come game time when they need to beat someone off the dribble, make space for themselves with a great turn, or just take someone to 'school', they'll have the tricks in their locker to do it!!

"Skill is the successful execution of technique under pressure"...

Stop - Panna time!

So what is "Panna" I hear you ask?! Well, Panna is the name given to the skill of playing the ball between an opponent's feet and collecting it on the other side, also known as a "nutmeg".

Panna examples.. (links to an external site - CDO Soccer has no control over the language in the comments section - all was good at the time of writing!)

Best of all, players will get chances to play in our weekly Panna 1v1 tournament; a chance to take on their peers and show us their game in quick 1v1 battles in a small space - first to three goals, or to make one panna, wins the game!

As always, we'll have our free play day, some futsal, finishing, 2013 Confederations Cup viewing parties and other popular activities - plus watch out for group trips to see local PDL team FC Tucson in action during June and July at Kino Sports Complex.

Inclement Weather Policy

As monsoon season approaches in late June/early July, the weather is something we have no control over. Player safety is our number one priority, so if lightning is anywhere near the field, we stop practice...if it rains without lightning, we just get wet! We make no apologies for showing caution when it comes to matters of player safety, so if the lightning is deemed to be within 30 seconds (between the flash and the bang), practice will either be suspended or cancelled. No make up dates can be scheduled unfortunately due to limited field availability in the summer.

Weather updates will appear at www.cdosoccer.com if it looks like a storm is in the area, and practice will be cancelled before 5.30pm if the outlook is poor. You can also follow us on Twitter @CDOSoccerFields for up to the minute field status..if you're driving to the field and it starts to rain, maybe reading a tweet can save you a journey!

(Because many costs of the program are paid in advance, registrations are not refundable unless a player is seriously injured and has a doctor's note - but they are transferable if your plans change. If you sign up and then your son or daughter chooses not attend many sessions, no discounts can be given...it's kind of like leaving a light on and not being in that room!)
