The US men had their moment last summer - now it is time for the US Ladies to shine!
Canada will host the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, and CDO Soccer Club will be mixing viewing parties and live action from the newly formed FC Tucson women's team, as well as our usual great value five nights a week camp program for a month of enjoyment!
The professionally designed curriculum for 2015 will feature games/practices from great coaches of female players, as our staff use their games that helped produce some of the top female players of the all time.
Anson Dorrance - UNC
Tony DiCicco - former USWNT
Randy Waldrum - former Notre Dame coach
Jerry Smith - Santa Clara University
Emma Hayes - Chelsea Ladies FC
Our low player to coach ratio means that this camp is full every season, so don't miss out!
Where and when is camp happening/who can participate?
The summer program is held at Wilson K-8 school on La Cholla & Glover, starting "on the field" Monday June 8th, running five nights a week (6.15pm - 7.30pm) through July 3rd, although it will all start with a viewing party to celebrate the big kick off for the FIFA Women's World Cup on Saturday 6th June, followed by live action with the season home opener for FC Tucson Women against rivals Phoenix Del Sol.
CAMP IS OPEN TO PLAYERS AGED 9 AND ABOVE. (Players aged 8 will be considered on a case by case basis - email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information).
Current CDO players have an early registration window until Thursday 2nd April to apply, at which point players from all clubs/organizations can also apply.
How do I sign up?
1. Email email@example.com with the subject heading 2015 CDO Summer Program (if you type anything else, it might get missed!), and include the following information. (All information below is required.)
- Player Name & Date of Birth
- Current CDO Team (if applicable/otherwise current club or organization)
- Emergency contact phone numbers & email for correspondence
- Details of any relevant allergies or medical conditions (i.e. an allergy to cats not really important, an allergy to ibuprofen/latex is!)
2. Print off the summer camp waiver (<-- click here) and complete to mail in with your payment, which cannot be accepted unless this form is signed.
3. Mail a check for the correct amount payable to CDO Soccer Club to:
CDO Summer Program
4715 W Lindenthal Lane
Tucson AZ 85742
4. Please indicate if you would be interested in a morning camp (7.00am - 8.15am) if the evening session is full (YES/NO)
Before April 2nd (current CDO Players only) - $140
April 2nd and later (if space exists, until groups are full) - $175
Camp registration with a discounted rate (current CDO players only) is now available - the discount ends at 12.01am on Thursday 2nd April and camp will open for non CDO players at that time. The number of places are strictly limited by age and applications are on a first come, first served basis, accepted in the order in which they are received.
Registration is not complete until all paperwork has been received and application does not guarantee acceptance - you will receive an acceptance email once groups are formed.
Please write CDO Summer Program on the memo area of your check AND indicate which module(s) your son/daughter is applying for. Do not make the check out to anything other than CDO Soccer Club, or your application will not be accepted!
Sibling discounts are available only after April 3rd - additional registrations cost the reduced rate. (Example - first player is $175, any additional siblings are $135)
What will my son or daughter need to bring?
- Water bottle, filled!
- Soccer ball, also filled, just not with water...
- Energy & enthusiasm!
Inclement Weather Policy
As monsoon season approaches in late June/early July, the weather is something we have no control over. Player safety is our number one priority, so if lightning is anywhere near the field, we stop practice...if it rains without lightning, we just get wet! We make no apologies for showing caution when it comes to matters of player safety, so if the lightning is deemed to be within 30 seconds (between the flash and the bang), practice will either be suspended or cancelled. No make up dates can be scheduled unfortunately due to limited field availability in the summer.
Weather updates will appear at www.cdosoccer.com if it looks like a storm is in the area, and practice will be cancelled before 5.30pm if the outlook is poor. You can also follow us on Twitter @CDOSoccerFields for up to the minute field status..if you're driving to the field and it starts to rain, maybe reading a tweet can save you a journey!
(Because many costs of the program are paid in advance, registrations are not refundable unless a player is seriously injured and has a doctor's note - but they are transferable to another eligible player if your plans change. If you sign up and then your son or daughter chooses not attend many sessions, no discounts can be given...it's kind of like having a gym membership and then deciding not to go!)
