About Us

Drone Team Challenge (DTC) is an exciting team competition format program for elementary, middle and high school students exploring UAVs (unmanned Aerial Vehicles) through an educational platform with Five DTC Missions:

  1. Knowledge : Focusing on aerospace/ FAA foundational concepts and safety regulations
  2. Simulation : Flight simulation practice
  3. Flight : Piloting and navigation of quadrotor drones with line of sight and FPV (First Person View)
  4. Creation/ Innovation : Applying software programming skills for autonomous flight and use of emerging technology tools
  5. Mentorship : Gaining invaluable leadership experience assisting less experienced youth navigating the missions

Supported through a grant by the Air Force Research Lab, Drone Team Challenge was established to encourage youth to explore aerospace/ aviation educational pathways, innovative applications for emerging technologies, learn about STEM careers, gain greater awareness and understanding of UAV safe practices, develop their leadership skills and hone their ability to work as a team.
