Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association is pleased to offer two Scholarships, the Nick Borkowski Scholarship and the John A. Borszich Scholarship.
Nick played soccer with GSSA for over 10 years, and this scholarship is intended to carry on his memory. The two $1,500 scholarships toward college tuition will be awarded annually in the spring, to a High School Junior, Senior or student currently enrolled in College, one to a male applicant and one to a female applicant.
The Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association annually grants two $1,000 John Borszich Scholarships: one to a male applicant and one to a female applicant. Scholarships are available to Juniors and Seniors planning to attend, or students currently attending, an accredited two or four-year college, university, trade or technical school. Applicants must have participated in the GSSA as a player, coach, referee or assistant referee. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, personal goals, and essays.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate through community activities and academic achievements, that they have the potential to be leaders in their community. Preference will be given to those that have been actively involved in GSSA and/or GSSC. Clear goals in what major is to be pursued and expectations of what college should do to prepare them for a career should be stated in a short essay.
If interested, please submit your completed application, references and transcripts no later than May 1st.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the scholarship is encouraged to donate funds to GSSA. GSSA is a registered not for profit organization, so all donations are tax deductible.
