Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

When is registration?
Online registration is available and In-person registrations are normally held in February. Flyers are posted throughout various school districts subject to their approval.

If you are a returning player and all information (address, phone, email, etc.) is the same, please email [email protected] requesting a new registration for the upcoming season.

How do I know what level my son/ daughter will register at?
All players need to sign up according to their age by August 1st. For example, if your child turns 11 on or after August 1st, they need to register for 11U.
Do I need a physical for my son/daughter?
No physical is required, however there is a short medical release on the registration form that must be filled out. Also, for all new players we will need (2) copies of their birth certificate at the time of registration.
Will I have to do any fundraising?
Every registered athlete is required to sell a minimum of $150 in our raffle ticket fundraiser which starts at Jersey Fitting when tickets are received. The money is collected upfront at the time of registration, therefore the money you obtain from sold cards will be yours.
Optional fundraising will be distributed at other times during the season.
When is the money due?
Full payment is requested at time of registration, however if assistance is needed, please email [email protected].

How can I volunteer to be a coach?
You can contact us at [email protected] and someone will contact you to set up an interview. We try to have all coaches selected by the beginning of March of the upcoming season.
Will my son/daughter receive a trophy?
At the end of the season all participants will receive an award from the league once their equipment/uniform has been returned.

What is the football registration cost?

What do I get for my money?
Your registration cost covers the following:
Helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants, game pants, and game jerseys. Items in underlined are on loan and are due back at the end of the season.
The registration cost also includes a mandatory fundraiser, which are raffle tickets that may be sold for $10 a piece.
What additional equipment must I purchase?
Football cleats, athletic supporter, padded shirt or rib protector, mouth guard, knee pads and a girdle with built-in pads. These items can all be purchased at a local sporting goods store.
Who are the coaches?
Most of our coaches are volunteer dads, but we encourage outside volunteers as well. All of our coaches are NYSCA certified.

What are the Football Levels?
The following is a breakdown of our levels: Flag, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, Varsity

When does football begin and end?
The season starts the end of July/beginning of August and runs through the end of October. Playoff games begin immediately following and can go through the 2nd week in November.
When does practice begin?
Practices begin the end of July/beginning of August, Monday through Friday until Labor Day from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. All practices are held at Madison Meadows Park in Lombard.
After Labor Day, practices reduce to (3) nights per week. Exact nights may vary.

When do games begin and how long are they?
The games start the 2nd week in August. The full game schedule is normally not available until mid to late August. A game normally last about 1 ½ hours. Teams normally arrive to the game field about 1 hour prior to game time.

How many games do they play and where?
We play approximately 9 to 11 games. Approximately half of the games played are at our home football field at Madison Meadows Park in Lombard, the remaining games are played at various different locations. (see conference teams)



Cheerleading FAQ

What is the cheerleading registration cost?

What does the registration cost cover?
Each girl will receive a shell and skirt that need to be returned at the end of the season. Cheer shoes, cheer socks, brief and bodysuit (crop top) are theirs to keep. Indoor practice gym fees are also included.
What is recommended for each cheerleader, in addition to what is provided?
It is encouraged to have comfortable shorts and tops that are appropriate for movement like Athletic shorts (yoga) and a water bottle.
When does practice begin and end?
The season starts the end of July or beginning of August and runs through the end of October or early November. If the squad's football team makes it into the playoffs they may be required to participate into mid-November. Practices will be 3-4 days per week the first two weeks of August (pre-season conditioning), once school starts practices will be held 2 evenings per week and game(s) on the weekend. Days of practices will be determined by squad's head coach.
How many games do they cheer for and where?
We play approximately 9 to 11 games. Approximately half of the games played are at our home football field at Madison Meadows Park in Lombard, the remaining games are played at various different locations. (see conference teams)

How long are the games?
A game normally last about 1 ½ hours. Squads are normally arrive to the game field about 1/2 hour prior to game time to warm up and go through the half-time routine.
