Summer of 2023

Another Summer has come and gone all too quickly. Once again, we would like to thank all of our volunteer board members, staff, coaches, umpires and everyone else who puts in countless hours of work to help give our communities youth countless memories. This summer has been a special year for NH District 1 for so many different reasons. First being Salem Little League winning the 10s, 11s and the 12s state championships and going to Bristol, CT for the regional championships. Another accomplishment was Bedford Little League winning the Intermediate state championship and was gifted the opportunity to compete in the regional tournament in Dover, Delaware. It was also an historic year for our volunteer umpires. The year started off with the state's first ever NH umpire clinic where over 100 participants showed up for the two-day event to learn and discuss the role of an umpire in Little League. Another major accomplishment for our umpires was that three of our District One umpires were all selected to umpire at various highly respected regional tournaments. Rob Hall (Assistant UIC) from Derry, NH was selected for the 10/11/12s division regional in Bristol, CT and was given the honor of being assigned the plate for the Metro region Championship Game. Dave Macary from Windham, NH was selected for the Softball regional also in Bristol, CT and was assigned 1st base for the Championship game. Lastly, Cameron Bernard (UIC) from Bedford, NH was selected for the Intermediate regional in Dover, DE where he earned the plate assignment for the East regional championship. All three were also selected to umpire together at the 11-year-old division regional in Beverly, MA. We also had numerous new umpires that were given the opportunity to umpire at the New Hampshire state championships in Somersworth, NH.

As we wrap up the Summer of 2023, we would like to say thank you to not only our board members but our District Administrator Sally Dreckman. Sally has been the D.A of District 1 since 2016 after serving as the president of Manchester Central Little League for a numerous number of years. Sally has been a Little League volunteer for over 25 years and has her time as D.A comes to a close her contributions to not only Little League but for her community should not go unnoticed. We would like to welcome the newly elected D.A. Vanessa Hayes and her soon to be announced board members who will take over on October 1st. New Hampshire Little League and District 1 is looking forward to the great things, they will accomplish.
